June 23, 2018 - Rafting the Grand Canyon Day Six

Well, this is our last full day.

Our first stop of the day was Havasu Creek.  There was a trail up the creek -- about a half a mile -- to a little falls.  If you continued further up about three miles you would come to the famous Havasu Falls.  But that will have to be another trip.

At the little falls.  The water was a pretty aqua blue.

Clearly, a well-travelled path.

Looking down our our rides.

Looking upstream, the way we came.

And looking downstream, and Havasu Rapid.

At some point, this may be it, Scott had to pull his boat over -- the tiller handle had broken off!  But the boats carry spare parts for everything, including an engine, believe it or not, and the guides know how to fix everything.  Ten minutes later we were back underway.

Some serious white water ahead!  I believe this was Lava Falls, which has a 14 foot drop.

The lead boat is rocking and rolling!

We made it!

On this one, there was a way to pull the boat over, go up river on the side, and do most of the rapid again.  We did not know it, but this was the "grand finale" of the trip.

Just another day at the office, my friends.

Jeff doing the Titanic "I"m on top of the world!" thing.  We were all exhilerated after Lava Falls.

Soon afterwards, we pulled over to our final campsite, and also the location of the Whitmore Helipad.
